Low stock warnings
A warning on the blouse pieces and plain fall cloth that every saree needs, so they are ordered before the Bathukamma rush and not during it.
Bills on your phone
A bill for a Gadwal saree named with its zari border, with the fall and the blouse stitching as lines of their own, so the buyer reads the saree and the tailoring apart.
Your own online shop
A page of this season's Gadwal and ikat sarees that a family can open on WhatsApp before travelling to your shop.

One piece, one line: from the Gadwal shelf to the weaver's next lot
The fall and petticoat cloth, counted before Bathukamma week
Every saree sold needs a fall and a petticoat piece, and the plain cloth is the first thing to run out in the festival week. Add it as an item by the metre and watch its count through the days before Bathukamma, so the supplier is called while the shelf still holds some.
A short weave becomes the next lot ordered from the weaver
When the count shows Gadwal running short, the order for the next lot goes to the weaver that day. A weaver works on the loom's time, so his lot takes weeks to come, and the order sent when the shelf is low is the one that reaches you before the rush.
Which weave sold first, read from the phone
Look up the days of last year's Bathukamma and Dasara weeks and see whether the Gadwal or the ikat went first, and which colours stayed. The next order to the weaver is written from those days.
Where crop money reaches a Telangana cloth counter
A cloth shop feels a district's money when it arrives, and in Telangana it arrives with the crop or the shift.
- At the Nizamabad market yard turmeric hit a record Rs 16,000 a quintal in April 2026, and about 30,000 quintals came from Nizamabad, Nirmal and Jagtial farmers.
- Khammam is a big chilli market. In February 2025 about one lakh bags arrived, and the best price was Rs 14,000 a quintal.
- In Medchal Malkajgiri the district lists 7,397 industrial units and 32 industrial parks, so many households there draw a monthly wage.
- Begum Bazaar, in the old city near Naya Pul, is among Hyderabad's chief retail and wholesale markets for household goods and kirana.
Questions Telangana cloth and saree shops ask
How do I know the fall and petticoat cloth will last the Bathukamma week?
Add the plain cloth as an item sold by the metre. Every bill takes its metres off the count, and the phone shows what is left each evening.
A customer wants the fall matched to the colour of her saree. Can the fall be a line under the saree?
Yes. Put the fall on the saree's bill as a line by the metre under the saree, in the colour she chose, so she reads the saree and its matching fall together and takes both home on one bill.
Two pieces of a lot are faulty, and the replacement comes on the loom's time. How do I plan for Bathukamma?
Take the two off the shelf count so they are not sold. If what is left of that weave will not last to Bathukamma, send an order for more while the loom is free, and do not wait for the replacement alone.
Handloom money and the free-saree programme
Telangana allocated Rs 258 crore for handlooms in 2026, naming Pochampally Ikat, Gadwal, Narayanpet and Siddipet Gollabhama sarees and Warangal durries as its iconic products. These are the pieces a cloth shop is asked for by name, so each one is worth a line of its own in the stock.
Under the One Crore Sarees for One Crore Women programme, the Telangana government had given out around 70 lakh free sarees by March 2026. So a shop sells in a state where a very large number of sarees are given free, and what a shop adds to that is the weave, the border and the fit.
