Billing for your mobile and electronics shop, from the cover to the new phone
A phone sold, a charger sold with it and a repair at the back, all on one phone.

What a counter of gadgets sees when the day is written as it goes
Light strips, speakers and phones are sold as gifts, each its own item
In the festival weeks an electronics shop sells LED light strips for the house, a speaker for a gift and a phone for the family. Keep each as its own item with its own rate and stock, so the strip that sells out on the first evening shows up on the phone and not at the shelf. The bench at the back keeps its own bills for repairs, and the day's report shows its takings on a line of their own. A new boy at the counter does not have to remember which strip was a gift and which was a sale.
The evening of the big day shows what is gone and what is left
Today's sales are on the phone at any hour. By the evening of Dhanteras or Deepawali, you can see which models sold, which chargers went and which shelf is empty. The next morning's order to the distributor starts from that list, not from a feeling. A shop that waits until the next day to count loses the chance to ask the distributor for the same night. A single night's count of the big day is better than a week's reconstruction. By the next morning, the numbers are old news.
The customer who goes quiet after the second part
Not every customer pays on the spot, and some stop coming before the last part. When a customer who took a phone goes quiet, his page shows the day of his last part and what is left. You know the exact figure before you say a word to him, and nobody has to guess the sum.

The Deepawali crowd, the Dhanteras day and three businesses at one counter
The crowd outside the shop on the festival evening
At Deepawali 2025, Jammu's markets had major crowds outside shops and showrooms selling clothes, gift accessories, jewellery, electronic gadgets and automobiles. In a phone and electronics shop the trouble is one person: the one who knows the rate of every phone, charger and speaker. When two customers ask at once, his helper guesses, and the two answers do not match. A customer who hears two rates does not buy, and he walks to the next showroom.
One day of the year when half the year's buying falls together
Indore's Dhanteras 2024 sales across gold, vehicles, electronics, garments and more were about Rs 750 crore, and over Rs 1,000 crore with real estate, in one day. A shop that sells a television, a phone or a refrigerator knows that day is coming. The ones with the stock ready sell. The ones that find out at ten in the morning that the model is gone do not. A single day of the year can decide whether the shop's festival month was good. A phone left unbilled that day sells at a rate the owner worked out in the middle of a crowd.
The bench at the back is a second business
The same shop sells a phone and has a bench at the back where a screen is changed or a battery replaced. A sale is paid on the spot, and a repair is paid when the phone is collected, days later. The two live in one drawer and one notebook, and when the drawer is short the owner cannot say which of them it was. A repair also leaves a phone on the bench for days, and a customer who calls to ask is told what the boy remembers.

Low stock warnings
A warning when the common charger or the best-selling cover is nearly gone, before the festival crowd finds the hook empty. A busy counter does not count hooks.
Sell to other businesses
A repair man in the next town applies to buy screens and batteries from you on credit, and has a page apart from your walk-in customers. What he takes goes on that page with its day, so his lots never mix with the bills of a customer who bought one phone.
Daily reports
Phone sales on one line and repairs on another, so when the drawer is short at night the owner can say which of the two it was.
Questions a phone and electronics dealer asks
A dealer from the next town wants to buy a few phones from me every month. How do I sell to him?
Hand over each month's lot against the figure on his page. The page shows the last lot's day and whether it is paid, so you decide at the counter and not in a quarrel a month later.
My helper pastes a screen guard on the new phone while the customer waits. Is that a sale?
Yes, if you charge for it. Put the fitting in as an item with its own rate, next to the guard itself, and both go on the bill. The guard comes off the stock and the fitting is a line for the helper's work.
A phone sold out on the Dhanteras evening and a family is waiting for it. What do I tell them?
The count shows nought, so promise nothing. Offer the nearest model you hold and make its bill while the family is at the counter, so it leaves with a phone.
Gadgets in Aizawl's Bara Bazaar and a new store in Dimapur
Outlook Traveller (2017) says Bara Bazaar, Aizawl's main shopping centre in Mizoram, sells Taiwanese electronics alongside Mizo garments, Chinese toys and cloth from Myanmar.
In Nagaland, Supernova group, which already ran mobile shops in Dimapur and Kohima, opened an electronics and home appliances store on Nyamo Lotha Road, Dimapur, in November 2018.
